SHARON PHELAN

is an artist whose work spans performance, installation, writing and composition, with specific attention to sound, voice, resonance and poetics of place.

Sharon holds a PhD from the School of Creative Arts, Trinity College Dublin and is a lecturer at the National College of Art and Design, and The School of Art and Design, Technological University Dublin.

Her practice is supported by The Arts Council / An Chomhairle Ealaíon.

Working with improvisation, field recording, voice and synthesis, Sharon has collaborated and performed with Eivind Aarset, Jeff Ballard, Natalia Beylis, Bog Bodies, Karl Burke, Seán Carpio, Lisa Dowdall, Seán Mac Erlaine, Neil O Connor and Matthew Nolan among others.

Recent festival performances include Fête de la Musique, Reception, Alternating Current, Body & Soul, audiograft, Metronome, Beyond the Pale, and Earth Rising.

Forthcoming is a tape release with Diet of Worms and a public art commission with Brown Mountain Diamond (2025).
