Katabasis is a night sea journey to and from the underworld, where the way down is paradoxically the way up. Loosely based on an experience of the bora — a katabatic wind descending over the Adriatic, the composition incorporates field recordings and digital synthesis in a sea-drift elegy of wind, wave and water.
